CABHAs
WHAT IS A CABHA?
A CABHA is a Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency that offers several services in one or more locations. It is similar, in some ways, to the old area programs. A CABHA is where members can go to get assessments, outpatient treatment, medication management, and other services.
CABHAs are not for everyone. Members do not have to go there for assessments or outpatient therapy. Members do not need to go there if they are getting Innovations Waiver services. Innovations Waiver services are not offered by CABHAs.
CABHAs are not intended to limit a member's choice of providers. There are only certain services that are required to be provided by CABHAs. They are:
- Community Support Team
- Day Treatment
- Intensive In-Home
All other services can be provided outside of the CABHA system.
