February 07to February 08 @ 09:30 AM - 01:00 PM
Sandhills Center - Clinical Supervision for Community-Based Services
The provision of effective clinical supervision with community-based service staff is critical to the delivery of high-quality services and can help mitigate staff burnout and turnover. This training reviews preparation for supervision with a focus on mindset, evidence-based practice (EBP) knowledge, agenda creation, and documentation of supervision. We will review three theoretical frameworks for supervision (developmental, reflective, and integrated), and how motivational interviewing (MI) may be used within supervision. Participants will practice the fundamentals of supervision, which includes initiating difficult conversations (e.g., correcting a skill, addressing a performance or attitude issue).
Target audience: Individuals in supervisory roles over community-based services staff (ACT, intensive community support providers, community-based programs, including Individual Placement and Support (IPS) teams).
Training length: 6 hours
