Registry of Unmet Needs

WHAT IS THE REGISTRY OF UNMET NEEDS?

The Registry of Unmet Needs is a waiting list for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) who qualify to get NC Innovations Waiver services. More people want these services than there are available spaces, or slots.

The registry is first-come, first-served. Use of the waiting list helps the Sandhills Center Tailored Plan keep track of who wants a slot. When slots open up, people are placed in Innovations Waiver services based on when they joined the waiting list. Only the North Carolina General Assembly can approve more slots. Because funding is limited, people’s names go on the waiting list until more slots are available.

HOW DO I GET ON THE WAITING LIST?

If you are the parent or guardian of a person with an intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) diagnosis who will need services:

Call Member & Recipient Services at 1-800-256-2452 (TTY: 1-866-518-6778).

The Sandhills Center Tailored Plan staff can give you information about how to qualify. They also can tell you about other services you can get while on the waiting list.

MORE ABOUT THE NC INNOVATIONS WAIVER

The NC Innovations Waiver allows people to live as independently as possible in their homes and communities. The waiver also helps families to manage their services and make choices that are best for them.
