The Office of Human Resources at Sandhills Center
Sandhills is committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information (including characteristics and testing), military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Sandhills Center believes that diversity and inclusion among our teammates is critical to our success as a Tailored Plan. We seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. All aspects of employment including the decision to hire, promote, discipline, or discharge, will be based on merit, competence, performance, and business needs.
The Sandhills Center Office of Human Resources performs many behind-the-scenes functions. These include effectively onboarding talented professionals, ensuring they are appropriately trained and/or credentialed for success, and compensating our most important assets with wages and fringe-benefit offerings that are fair and competitive. We also provide staff with opportunities for growth through exposure to challenging career paths that reward performance excellence.
The Office of Human Resources is headquartered in West End, N.C., and supports management and staff there, as well as those located in administrative field offices in Greensboro, Asheboro, Sanford and Buies Creek. The unit is staffed by Leonard Covington (Chief Human Resources Officer), Denise Palmer (Human Resources Manager), Chris McLean (Human Resources Specialist), Thelma King (Human Resources Consultant), Joanette Patterson (Administrative Assistant), and Athena Hatzigeorgiou (Human Resources Assistant).
